Welcome to the Department of Mathematics & Statistics
University of New Mexico
Applications for admission to the department must be processed and approved by the Office of Graduate Studies (domestic students) or the Office of International Admissions (international students) before candidates are chosen.
Deadlines for completed applications to be received in the Department:
FALL
February 15 for all applications seeking Department funding in the form of a TA.
April 30 for all others
SPRING
November 1
The completed graduate application will contain a letter of intent, three letters of recommendation-- at least two of these should be from Ph.D. faculty (it doesn't matter if they are tenure track), and the application for assistantship if you are requesting financial aid. The Department recommends that should you wish to have GRE scores sent you should take the Specialized Math GRE, but GRE scores are not required at the present time.
