Event Description:

Title:    Twisted multilinear forms and applications.

Abstract:

We introduce the twisted paraproduct, which is a trilinear form proposed in the work by Demeter and Thiele on the two-dimensional bilinear Hilbert transform. We introduce a closely related quadrilinear form and discuss L^p estimates for this quadrilinear form. Then we discuss applications of these estimates to quantitative norm convergence of ergodic averages with respect to two commuting transformations and quantitative cancellation estimates for the simplex Hilbert transform. The talk is based on joint works with Vjeko Kovac, Kristina Ana Skreb and Christoph Thiele.
