Event Description:

Title: Inverse Problems for Spectral Shift Functions

Abstract: In this talk I will discuss approximation of spectral sums and introduce the related spectral shift functions. I will show a uniqueness result for a nonlinear inverse problem arising in Taylor approximations of spectral sums and a related stability result for the spectral shift functions. I will conclude with several open research directions on the inverse problem for spectral shift functions.
