Event Description:

Abstract: G2-structures on 7-dimensional manifolds play a very important role in both geometry and physics. One of the ways to better understand the relationships between different types of G2-structures is to study their flows. In this talk, we will first introduce basic properties of G2-structures and then we will survey recent progress in the study of flows of G2-structures, with emphasis on Laplacian “coflows” of co-closed G2-structures. We introduce the properties of the Laplacian coflow of G2-structures as well as the modified coflow, going over short-time existence and uniqueness results for the modified coflow and well as recent results on Shi-type estimates.
