"Computer Algebra Support for Dynamical System Study" V. Govorukhin (*), V. Tsybulin Rostov State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Dept. of Comput. Mathematics Zorge str. 5 Rostov-on-Don, 344090 Russia E-mail:vgov@ms.math.rsu.ru In this talk the application of computer algebra system Maple for the support of nonlinear dynamic teaching is presented. We combine Maple and DESIR program (dynamical systems researching tool). The result of this approach is rather successful. The students were capable to execute all research works and master both packages. Moreover, we find that separate learning of dynamical systems theory and advanced computer tools takes more time and efforts than combined approach. Firstly, we formulate a number of research works on nonlinear dynamics and list the demands to computer algebra system. Then we explain the necessity of combined using of special program for dynamical system investigation and briefly describe a package Desir created by V.Govorukhin. Finally we present application of Maple and Desir to study one-dimensional polynomial map and nonlinear ordinary differential equations systems.
