"Polynomial System Solving for industrial problems: A report from the FRISCO project" Laureano Gonzalez--Vega Departamento de Matematicas, Estadistica y Computacion, Facultad de Ciencias, Universidad de Cantabria, Santander, Spain. E_mail: gvega@matesco.unican.es In this talk the FRISCO (A Framework for Integrated Symbolic/Numeric Computation) project will be presented together with the activity developped inside the project towards the transfer, to companies, enterprises and R\&D laboratories, of the last achievements in polynomial system solving. This will be done by presenting, at least, two concrete examples arising, the first, from the design of a transistor and, the second, from the CAD/CAM software in an industrial framework. In these examples it will be shown how the use of new techniques for Polynomial System Solving has been very useful to solve the real-world problems considered.
