A problem-solving environment (PSE) is an integrated software system for solving problems in a specific application domain.  A PSE should enable the user to input and work on problems in a manner that is natural to the problem domain.  Furthermore,  the user should not be burdened by they underlying computer software and tools that are used by the PSE.

Computer Algebra plays an important role in Problem Solving Environments (PSEs), particularly PSEs for problems in Science and Engineering. This session is devoted to discussions of what types of problem solving environments are useful in science and engineering and what is the role of computer algebra in such environments.
