Marilo Lopez Gonzalez, Javier Rodrigo Hitos* (Spain), mate@icai.upco.es Searching roots for three degree polynomials with the help of Mathematica Mathematica is a mathematical computer program that represents an exceptional tool to create and teach mathematics. At present, the visualization and model of maths with mathematical assistants such us Mathematica, play a very important role in the teaching of mathematics. In this paper features of Mathematica have been used to find polynomial roots. A new method has been developed to find exact polynomial roots, without using complicated techniques, with the help of the program. This method is presented for three degree polynomials. It is supported in reducing a general polynomial to one in the form x^3-b, whose roots are easily calculated.
