Crow (USA), aj5831@exmail.usma.army.mil Derivations and Visualizations for the Hydrogen Atom We demonstrate an Interdisciplinary Lively Applications Project (ILAP) from a PDE course that demonstrates the applicability of the material to Math majors and prepares Physics majors for the applications they will wrestle with in their majors courses. This project supplements student handiwork with Mathematica to help analyze the resulting ODE's and with Maple to let students visualize and experiment in order to get a better feel for how the math translates into physics. We find that this project helps motivate the material, previews a difficult subject for the physics majors, and helps translate between the math and physics jargon in a way that usually isn't done in either course alone.
