Investigating Complex Data and Dynamics via Computer Algebra Andrew Toon SIM University (Singapore) andrewtoon@unisim.edu.sg Computer algebra allows students to import and manipulate complex data sets that can give an early exposure the cutting edge research. In particular, we show that data of complex real proteins (the Protein Data Bank) can be imported into computer algebra systems allowing students to investigate an array of issues from statistics, correlations, model testing to the differential equations of complex dynamics.
