Dennis Baidoo, a former graduate student in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Mexico, has been awarded the American Statistical Association (ASA) Norman Beery Memorial Scholarship.

Baidoo received the scholarship during the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Boston, the largest annual gathering of statisticians and data scientists. The scholarship recognizes promising students pursuing studies in statistics, biostatistics, or related fields.

Baidoo completed his M.S. in Statistics at UNM and is now a PhD student in Biostatistics at The Ohio State University College of Public Health. His continued recognition by the ASA reflects his commitment to statistical science, biostatistics, and advancing health through data-driven research.

This latest honor adds to Baidoo’s previous recognition, including the Lester R. Curtin Award and numerous Early Career Travel Awards from the ASA, as well as the 2024 ASA Biopharmaceutical Section Scholarship Award.
