Techniques for Translating Between the Equivalent Representations of Polynomial Functions with the TI-Nspire CAS Technology Eugenia Kelepesi-Akritas, Aristotelis Raptis, Athanasia Raptis and Alkiviadis G. Akritas In the scientific community it is widely accepted that for a deeper understanding of the concept of function students need to be able to translate between the three most commonly used representations of polynomial functions, that is, between the algebraic expression (A), tabular form (T) and graphical representation (G). In this talk we demonstrate the modeling capabilities of the computer algebra system TI-Nspire CAS and show how to perform the translations A <-> T, T <-> G, G <-> A, completing thus the Triple Representation Model (TRM) by Schwarz, Dreyfus & Bruckheimer.
