The exams will be given in class and will be in the form of
``practice qualifying exams''. They will consist in solving a set
of exercises very similar to the ones
contained in the set of ``homework exercises'';
you might also be asked to give basic definitions or examples.
Homework will be assigned every Friday and will be collected the next Friday.
Your final grade will be computed as follows:

the midterm exam represents 1/3, and the homework
represents 1/6 of the final grade respectively.

Qualified students with disabilities needing appropriate academic adjustments

Teaching Assistants, and Graduate Assistants are considered
“responsible employees”
by the Department of Education
(see pg 15 -
http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/qa-201404-title-ix.pdf).
This designation requires that any report of gender discrimination
which includes sexual harassment, sexual misconduct and sexual
violence made to a faculty member, TA, or GA must be reported
to the Title IX Coordinator at the Office of Equal Opportunity
(oeo.unm.edu). For more information on the
campus policy regarding sexual misconduct,
