This week, our teaching seminar will focus on grading and writing an appropriate exam. To kick start the discussion, you received problems to grade during in-service. We will discuss good grading practices, how to decide point distributions, how to grade consistently, and why different TAs grade the same work differently. Be sure to bring your graded problems and your key/rubric or be prepared to discuss your rationale and methods. We will conclude with guidelines for writing an appropriate exam.

Homework: Consider the best teacher(s) you have had, what about their style or the classroom environment they created motivated you. Be prepared to share how you hope to motivate students.
