QUALIFYING EXAM PREPARATION SEMINAR (QEPS)
Each Spring semester, starting with Spring 2013, the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics will run
a Qualifying Exam Preparation Seminar. This seminar is a QE problem session with a support group of
advanced graduate students and postdocs to help out.
This effort builds on previous such seminars, held most
recently by Professors Embid (for 5 years!) and Buchner,
with the goal of making them a permanent offering of our department.
The spring seminar will meet every week for up to 1 1/2 hours.
The focus this Spring 2013 will be on the qualifying exam areas
Algebra
Geometry
Real Analysis
Complex Analysis
