SUnMaRC 2013 |
Southwest Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference |
The 10th Southwest
Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference, SUnMaRC '13, was held
on March 1-March 3, 2013, in Albuquerque, NM, hosted by the University
of New Mexico. This
conference series provides students an opportunity to see what math
research can be about, to meet other students throughout the Southwest
with similar interests, to explore possibilities for graduate studies,
and, for those that have already been working on a research project,
to present their work.
A total of 105
participants
attended the conference, coming from ASU (30), MCC (6), NAU (10), Princeton (1),
Sandia National Laboratories (1), Tutonic (1), UA (11), UMich (1), UNM (38),
WNMU (6).
40 students gave great
talks
talks on their research program.
We saw other interesting talks by
invited speakers,
ranging from meteorite impact and scientific computing to
math education and averaging.
See the
full conference program.
The conference was sponsored by an NSF-MCTP grant to UNM 2012-2016.
