              Vector Calculus (inexpensive paperback)

              (excellent intuitive explanations of ideas and easy-to-follow
               examples and illustrations, especially useful during the
               2nd half of the course, for help with vector integral theorems).

      COURSE POLICIES

     *Homework policy: Problems assigned each class time; due in class
                during next class period 
                Two - four problems per assignment will be collected
                and graded.                      Each problem worth 5 pts.
     *Quizes: there will be a 15' quiz each Friday          (worth 25 pts.)
               based on the assigned (ungraded) problems from the
               previous week's lectures (i.e. Quiz 12 is based on
               material from the 12th week of the course etc.)
     *Final: cummulative final (on Fri., May. 14, 10:00->12:00),   300 pts.
     *Make-up policy: No make-up for late assignments.
                Make-up can be arranged for quizes missed with VALID
                excuse (illness, family emergency, active participation 
                        in scholarly or athletic activities) 
               *if prior notice is given.
     *Attendance: is not mandatory, but will not be able to assist if you 
                miss class without a valid reason.
