      COURSE POLICIES

     *Homework policy: Problems assigned each class time; due in class    25%
                during next class period 
                Two - four problems per assignment will be collected
                and graded.                     Each problem worth 5 pts.
     *Exams: there are three midterm exams                                25% ea.
     *Final: cumulative final (date TBA)                                  25%
             (optional: will replace the lowest of the exams)
     *Make-up policy: No make-up for late assignments.
                Make-up can be arranged for exams missed with VALID
                excuse: illness; family emergency; active participation 
                 in scholarly or athletic activities (prior notice required).
     *Attendance: is not mandatory, but will not be able to assist if you 
                miss class without a valid reason.
     *Special Arrangements: any student requiring special arrangements 
                due to disability must inform me during the first two weeks.
