Chapter 1
Final Exam
Q: How much graphing will there be on the final?
A: You will have to be able to do phase lines, and sketch
phase portraits if the vector field is plotted for you.
Q: Which numerical methods will we need to recreate on the final?
A: As was the case with the quizzes, you will need to only be able to do
Euler's method from memory.
Q: What table of Laplace transforms will we be allowed to use on the final?
A: The table that you will be allowed to use on the final is given here.
Q: How do we determine the Laplace transform of functions that are not on the table?
A: You must memorize and be comfortable in using the Translation Theorem 7.3.3, the
Differentiation Theorem 7.3.5, the Translation Theorem 7.6.8, and the Delta Function Theorem 7.8.6.
Q: What material from the last sections will be covered on the final?
A: You will need to know everything about the Laplace transform except the
Convolution Theorem.
