In the Name of God Amen. I John Westray of the Isle of Wight County
being Weak and Sick in Body, but of sound and perfect Memory Thanks be to
Almighty God for it, and do think fit to make this my last Will and Testament,
in manner and form as followeth.
Imprimis. I Give and Bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave
it me, and to his Son Jesus Christ my Mediator and Redemer, in hopes that when
he sees fit to call me, that I shall receive full Pardon and Forgiveness of all
my Sins, and then to be Buried at the Discretion of my Executor.
Item. I Give to my Son Exum Westray my Land, and Plantation I now Live
on, to him and his Heirs.
Item. I Give my Hunting Gun to my Son Exum. I Give it as a Legacy.
Item. I Give to my loving Wife Sarah Westray, her choice of one of my
Feather Beds and Furniture. I Give it as a Legacy.
Item. Give to my loving Wife, her choice of one Cow & Calf. I Give
it as a Legacy.
I Give to my loving Wife one Spinning Wheel, and Cards, and what Cotton
she has a mind take. I Give it as a Legacy. [-page break-]
Item. I Give my Wife one Chest, a Pot, and frying Pan. I Give it as a
Legacy.
Item. I Give to my Daughter Martha Westray five Pounds Cash. I Give it
as a Legacy.
Item. I Give to my Son Daniel Westray one Negroe Boy named Dick, to him
amd his Heirs.
Item. I Give to my Son James Westray, one Negroe Girl named Sid, to
him, and his Heirs.
My Will and Desire is, that if Daniel, or James Westray Dies
without Heir, that Exum Westray may have the Negroes that I Will to
them.
Item. My Will and Desire is, that all the rest of my Moveable Estate should be
Equally Divided amongst my loving Wife, and four Children, namely
Exum, Martha, Daniel, and James Westrays After my
Debts and Funeral Charges Paid, I do make Edmond Westray my whole and
Sole Executor, Revoking all other Wills heretofore. As Witness my Hand and
Seal, this 29th Day of November 1762.

The last Will and Testament of John Westray Decd was presented in Court by Edmond Westray the Executor therein Named, who made Oath thereto and being proved by the Oaths of Benjamin Westray jun. and Richard Pearce, two of the Witnesses thereto, is Ordered to be Recorded.
