LaTeX

Hypertext help for LaTeX An excelent on line reference for LaTeX, our local copy of the files from NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies.

Comprehensive Styles and Packages documentation This is a master list of the documentation for packages and style files available with LaTeX on our system. It is a mess, but if you want to know how to use a package or style file (like minitoc, or curves.sty, or AMS-LaTeX, etc.) any documentaion we have is here -- somewhere!

Getting Started with LaTeX this serves as a local guide for the math department and in 4 pages covers just enough to get you started. Also available in LaTeX source format.

Essential LaTeX ++ Jon Warbricks Essential LaTeX ++ is an accessable introduction to general typesetting. It provides fairly even coverage of everything in 25 pages. Weak on mathematical typesetting, but with an amusing "Horrible Mathematical Examples to Study" section.

An introduction to TeX and friends by Gavin Maltby, Everything is covered adequately and mathematical typsetting is handled in detail. This reference explains LaTeX features rather than simply presenting examples. 75 pages. Also available in LaTeX source format.

A LaTeX crib sheet this 16 page document lists every command available in LaTeX with a one or two line explanation. It has great tables for the special characters. Also available in LaTeX source format Part 1 and Part 2 .
