Textbook: Introduction to Modern Statistics | Textbook: Advanced Data Analysis I |

The material presented here is based on notes from my colleague Dr. Erik Erhardt, who has taught this course for many years. Since he is on sabbatical this academic year, I am taking over his class and have posted all of his notes on my website. I have modified some parts of the first couple classes and will continue to make occasional adjustments before class.

  • Quarto: Open-source publishing system.
    Documentation & install: quarto.org/docs/get-started
    With Quarto, you can combine text, R code, and LaTeX math into documents, then render to Word, HTML, or PDF.
  • TinyTeX: Lightweight \(\LaTeX\) distribution (needed to render PDFs directly by Quarto).
    Two steps in R:
    install.packages("tinytex")
    tinytex::install_tinytex()

  • You are responsible to read the entire chapter (unless otherwise noted).
  • Videos and Tutorials are available to help with most material.
    • Videos will specify sections or topics covered.
    • Tutorials are best done at the end of each chapter.
