Miranda, Cullen and Monika met a couple of times to discuss the project, which is one of those proposed on the Outreach website. Then Miranda and Cullen outlined a presentation for a junior level Algebraic Models and a senior level Transition to College Math class (that had conveniently just been studying polynomials). They met with Mr See and discussed the project, and also met with Professors Michael Nakamaye and Monika Nitsche to finalize how to best present the material. Cullen went to Home Depot to buy several T-sections of pipe to perform the experiment, and brought all ingredients for the soapfilm. Miranda finalized the writeup and the worksheet for the presentation. They visited the two classes of Mr See after the class had completed their week of testing, and before their spring break. |
