SUnMaRC 2024 at University of New Mexico

Dates:

Friday, April 5, 2024 to Sunday, April 7, 2024

Conference Location: University of New Mexico

Description:

The Southwestern Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference brings together students and faculty from   throughout the southwest for a weekend of mathematics.  SUnMaRC is designed to provide opportunities for students to attend and/or present mathematics research in a supportive and fun atmosphere.  In addition to student talks, there are invited speakers from a variety of areas including academia, industry and government.

The conference began in 2004 as the Arizona Mathematics Undergraduate Conference.  In 2008, the conference changed to SUnMaRC to recognize the participation of institutions throughout the southwest.

Read the following registration information if you are interested in participating in the 2024 SUnMaRC edition. Please contact the local organizers Dimiter Vassilev and Janet Vassilev if you have any questions.

  • Participating Universities, other than UNM, should be registered by their respective local faculty or staff coordinators using the Non-UNM group Registration (one per school) form. The local coordinators will then be able to provide a registration link to their student participants. Each non-UNM student will do their own registration using the provided by their local school coordinator(s) link.
  • UNM participants should register using the Individual UNM Participant Registration link.

Our plan is to provide partial to full reimbursement for lodging, transportation, and subsistence for each participant. Car-pooling with private or hired university vehicles is encouraged whenever possible. To avoid lodging charges and use the hotel paid by the conference, non-UNM student participants should fill the registration form provided by the local school coordinator(s) by 5pm on Thursday, March 21. Funding is provided by the NSF and UNM, College of Arts and Sciences.
