The  Fall Western Sectional Meeting (formerly at University of New Mexico)

  • now meeting virtually, PDT (hosted by the American Mathematical Society), Albuquerque, NM

Has 23 Special Sessions of which 9 are organized by 15 UNM Math and Stats  faculty and 1 alumni. These sessions are ranging from Arithmetic Geometry; Commutative Ring Theory; Extremal Polynomials; Geometry and Geometric Analysis, Harmonic Analysis; Mathematics and Modelling of Phylogenetic Networks; Statistical Models and Designs; Theoretical and Applied Perspectives in Machine Learning; and Turbulence, Singularities, and Nonlinear Waves in Fluid Dynamics, Optics, and Plasmas.  A  number of our graduate students, alumni, and faculty are also speakers. 

You are all invited to partake in this Math and Stat festival that unfortunately will be in a virtual format for that you need to register. We will support undergraduate and graduate student interested in participating.

Look forward to Fall 2023 when we are scheduled to host another AMS meeting this time in person (or so we hope).
