Printing

The department has two high-throughput black and white laser printers.  Typically, the printers can be found by looking on the network.

  • If you need the IP addresses, those can be found on the printers at their SMLC location.
  • Locations:  SMLC 223 and the third floor administrative offices
  • Model: RICOH IM 5000
  • Network Names: RICOH IM 5000

Research

There is excellent research computing support available.  Support is provided for machines used for computational research running a Linux operating system.  The services provided include

  4. Virtual Machine Creation and Maintenance via LoboCloud
  5. Storage Expansion and Configuration
  6. General Troubleshooting
  7. User and Group Management
  8. Backup Configuration
  9. System Security Hardening
  10. Contacting other IT departments for solving non-research related issues

Parallel computing

Mathematics and Statistics

The department maintains two multicore, large RAM research servers.

UNM Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC)

For large-scale cluster computing needs, UNM faculty and students can request accounts at the Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC).  CARC maintains a number of large clusters available for research use.  https://carc.unm.edu/
