Title: Analogies between numbers and functions
Abstract: I will present an overview of the classical analogies
(going back the the 19th century) between numbers and
functions. These have motivated a lot of the developments in the number theory
of the 20th century. I will also mention some recent developments including my joint
work with Lance Miller.
