Graduate student Austin Bell and Part-Time Instructor Marina Popova win teaching awards

Please join me in congratulating
  • Austin Bell who just won a 2021-22 Susan Deese-Roberts Teaching Assistant of the Year Award and
  • Marina Popova who just won a 2021-22 Online Teacher of the Year Award.

Austin has distinguished himself teaching and receiving excellent evaluations, but also as the leader behind the Directed Reading Program (DRP) started in Fall 2020 when he joined our graduate program.

Marina was ahead of the curve creating online courses for Math 1220: College Algebra and Math 1430: Applications of Calculus I before the pandemic hit. These courses are now quite popular and fill quickly in the regular semesters or the summer alike.

You both make us very proud! Keep the good work up!
