Undergraduate Valerie Fong and Alumni Kaitlin O'Dell get NSF GRFP awards

The recipients of this year's NSF Graduate Research Fellowships Program (GRFP) are out: https://www.research.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=sort&page=34

Nine UNM current or former undergraduate students were selected. Among them two of our  Applied Math students:

  • Valerie Fong (also recipient twice of the ASSURE award last fall and this spring) and
  • Kaitlin O'Dell who graduated in 2020.

Valerie is a student of Assistant Professor Owen Lewis, and Kaitlin was a student of now Emeritus Professor Deborah Sulsky and she is now a student at University of Utah. 

Well done Valerie and Kaitlin, you make us very proud!
