Distinguished Professor Pavel Lushnikov will be a speaker in the next faculty Lightning Lounge,
April 10 from 4-5 p.m. in Ortega Hall room 335.
The Lightning Lounge events feature 7 minute talks by faculty from across campus about their research and scholarship. There is time for questions and networking.
The presenters this month will be Osman Anderoglu of Nuclear Engineering, discussing “Development of Multilayered Metallic Composites for Extreme Environments;” Madura Pathirage of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, whose talk is “Fracture Mechanics and Multi-physics Modeling of Brittle Materials Used in Energy and Civil Engineering;” Eli R. Wilson of Sociology and Criminology, on “Handcrafted Careers: How Artisanal Work and Social Inequality Come Together in the Craft Beer Industry;” and Pavel Lushnikov of Math and Statistics, whose talk is "Breaking of Oceanic Waves."
The Lightning Lounge is hosted by the Office of Academic Affairs, Advance at UNM, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
