Title: On the Boundedness of Geometric Maximal Operators

Abstract: We will present advances on the $L^p$ boundedness of directional maximal operators, focusing on a recent result from joint work with Paul Hagelstein and Alex Stokolos, which employs probabilistic techniques in the construction of Kakeya-type sets.

About the speaker: Blanca Radillo-Murguia is pursuing her PhD in the Department of Mathematics at Baylor University in Texas under the supervision of Dr. Paul Hagelstein. Her primary research interests lie in harmonic analysis and probabilistic methods, with a particular focus on geometric maximal operators and Kakeya-type sets.
